Blogging with a BE-CMS

September 5, 2007 15:50 by sarnil

The blog entry CMS (BE-CMS) is up and this very entry will posted using it. This is a significant development since it will allow me to become more regular with these blog posts and hopefully post some over the weekends as well. It appears that I have already a couple of avid readers of my posts with enquiries when posts aren't in regular supply ;-)

Couple of things about this BE-CMS:

1) I am using a cool new Rich Text Editor. Features aren't necessarily abound, but it is one of the quickest I've ever setup for any site. It can be had and played with from http://freetextbox.com/. It looks pretty cool I must say. I have yet to discover all the features of it, but I will post as soon as I've made some helpful discoveries.

2) The BE-CMS doesn't yet have an updates feature, so I am unable to correct any mistakes on the posts. Hoping to have tha going sometime soon. Visually it looks flat right now, but I don't expect to become good looking anytime soon.

Moving on...

My colleague May  (yep that's her name), has her own very successful blog (http://www.mayvelous.com). It looks helluva lot better then this one. The content is absolutely brilliant. It is a very rich site, with plenty of pictures and interesting articles. She's already starting to make money from it, but I hope she doesn't quit working with us to pursue a full time career in blogging. The reason her site's getting this plug, is because she tagged my site on her's tonight (http://www.mayvelous.com/?p=215). Thanks May. Brilliant poem.

SQL Server Management Studio for SQL Server 2005...
This thing is extremely slow on my laptop. At first it seemed fast, but the more I get into it, simple things seem to take long time to happen. I'll have a more detailed post about it, sometime later, once I've investigated a little bit deepeer.

About Life...
I've just got a new table in the house. After spending months looking for a decent dining table, my wife and I gave up and bought a small temporary one. We're now thinking of getting one custom made for us. Let's see how that goes.... And tomorrow night, I am having grog with a couple of blokes about rubbish dumps. Can't believe I am saying I am looking forward to it, but I am.

This is a rather long post... there <snipped>
