V Berry vs. V Original

October 10, 2007 15:49 by sarnil

Although I don't consume energy drinks on a daily basis (I like to think of myself as one with enough energy already :-)), I know of friends who've confessed to be addicted (to V especially). Every so often though, I'd be in the need for a quick fix and that's when the hunt for V begins.

Unfortunately, the hunt isn't nearly as simple as walking up to the nearest service station or the known corner shop that does sell V. Almost always, I have to visit several shops before I can find what I am looking for. It's not that the first and other shops where I didn't find V had run out of it, it's just that they didn't have the original V. They never run out of the fake V, the Berry flavoured one. I personally hate the Berry version. It simply tastes terrible.

What the hunting experience shows, is that I am not the only who perfers the original V. I am just always late. I hope this lesson is being learnt by those responsible for marketing the product in Fiji. Stop stocking the fridges with the Berry flavoured ones and make more room for the originals! You'll have more customers...occasionally ;-)

Agree about that V Berry flavour - nast. That said, I've met several females who prefer it, so I guess V did their homework.

My favourite V flavour is the V Black (http://www.v.co.nz/default,581.sm) To the best of my knowledge it's only available at Nadi Airport here in Fiji, so I generally pig out when I'm overseas and then mourn while drinking V Green in Fiji.

I'm sadly addicted to this stuff - and I know exactly where to go to get it: the tiny little shop right outside the back entrance to the office stocks V Green (no Berry). The lady in the shop doesn't talk to me any more - she just gets a bottle out when she sees me coming. And to top it off, at $2.95 a bottle, you would be hard pressed to find a cheaper source of chemical zoom in town.

That lady is amazing. Everytime I go there, she doesn't say a word and pops a bottle of Powerade on the counter. Amazing how perceptive she is.
